St. John's International Residential School is promoted and managed by the Saint Johns Educational Trust, founded in 1968.

Saint John's Educational Trust is funding and running Seven educational institutions of which three are affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and four is affiliated to State Education Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.

The Objectives of the Trust are as follows :

To establish, find, organise, start, promote, construct, maintain, run, develop and improve educational institutions such as primary and elementary schools, secondary or higher grade schools, colleges, polytechnics, residential schools, colleges, Balwadi's research institutes, scientific, cultural, art, technical or vocational training institutions, hostels etc., for students without distinction of caste, creed or religion.

To promote spiritual literacy, emotional, cultural and scientific progress of all, specially the student community.

The Chairman and Managing Trustee is Rev. Dr. G. Rajakumar. He is the founder, editor and publisher of the Tamil daily Thina Thoothu.

He is the recipient of many awards, listed below :

"Vijay Shree Award"-1991, for enriching Human Life and Outstanding attainments.
"Shiromani Award"-1991, for Human Excellence.
"Anna Award"-1990 in the field of Education.
